If Osceola County's tagline on the administrative side is going to be, "Be First to What's Next," then it makes sense that the county has jumped on the artificial intelligence (AI) bandwagon.
Meet Oscie, Osceola.org's new AI Chatbot, designed to make traversing the county's website a bit easier.
You can find Oscie at Osceola.org and on the county's MyOsceola mobile app. On the website, the bot appears in the lower right-hand corner (a little "pop-up" sound diverts your eyes that way). The idea, county leaders say, is to improve users' ability to quickly access government services, information and frequently asked questions by providing real-time, 24/7 assistance in both English and Spanish.
Oscie puts commonly-sought information like permits and licenses, housing programs, trash services and meetings and events at users' fingertips. If the request runs a little more in-depth than that, the "Ask a question" button and "Start a new conversation" feature will route users to a live agent weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for answers to more complex inquiries.
"As part of the Osceola County's quest to provide helpful resources for residents at the click of a button, this project reflects our commitment to modernizing public service delivery while also increasing accessibility for all users," county officials said at Monday evening's unveiling.
