24 ’24-25 G League games at Silver Spurs Arena through March
Get your seats, get your popcorn, and get ready for another season of Osceola Magic basketball.
The NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic will take to the court at the Silver Spurs Arena for its second season on Nov. 8 against the Austin Spurs.
The team will start the season with a four-game home stand with games against Austin (Nov. 10) and the Mexico City Capitanes (Nov. 14-15).
It’s part of a 24-game home scheduled through the end of March that makes up the G League season. The schedule will again be split into two parts—a 16game Tip-Off Tournament and a traditional 34-game regular season. Following the Tip-Off tournament, team records will reset in advance of the 34-game regular season. Each NBA G League team will play 50 games: 24 home, 24 away and two neutral-site games at the annual Winter Showcase in Orlando. Season, singlegame, group tickets and suite rentals are available now for the season. For ticket information, visit OsceolaMagic.com or call 407-447-2140.
The team will play four games at the Spurs in November and December, three in January and two in February as the team makes way for the Osceola County Fair and other events, and becomes the main event in March will 11 home games.
As for the team fans will see, expect at least a couple of familiar faces. Mac McClung, the point guard who earned NBA G-League MVP honors while last season, has been named a Two-Way player with a converted contract along with Trevelin Queen, the Orlando Magic announced Saturday. This means McClung, who has won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in back-to-back NBA All-Star weekends, can freely move to the Orlando roster on a game-by-game basis. Last year Queen spent last season as a two-way, and split the year between Osceola and Orlando. H e played in 14 games with NBA Orlando Magic, and averaged 11.8 minutes per game.
“This is bigger than me,” McClung said about making his way to the NBA through the Magic organization. “This is because I genuinely love it and I want this to make an impact and I want to inspire one day.”
This is an indication of the development available to G League players, Last year, Brandon Williams started the season in Osceola and earned a spot with the Dallas Mavericks, and at the end of the year the Philadelphia 76ers called up D.J. Wilson.
Among the other talent acquired thus far by Osceola:
Jarrett Culver: the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, he averaged 20.9 points and 6.9 rebounds with the Rio Grande Vipers last season.
Charlie Brown Jr.: A a two-way player with the New York Knicks last season, played eight games with New York and 17 games with Westchester, averaging 17.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and two steals per game.
Ethan Thompson: averaged 22.8 points per game with Mexico City last year and was named to the All-NBA G League Third Team.
Robert Baker II: A 32% three-point shooter in three G League seasons.
Jalen Slawson: played 12 games with the Sacramento Kings as a two-way player and starred in the G League for the Stockton Kings.
Javonte Smart: A veteran of the G League and European leagues, averaged nearly 16 points per game in 63 games over the last three seasons.
