Seal Valentine’s Day with a kiss — and a wedding

Valentine’s Day is a celebration of romance.

For up to 30 couples who want to take their relationships to “the next level” of commitment, the office of Osceola Clerk of the Circuit Court & County Comptroller Kelvin Soto has the solution: Seal that lasting affection with a kiss — and a wedding.

Over two sessions on Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. in English and 2 p.m. in Spanish, 15 couples per group ceremony are invited to participate in a romantic celebration of love and marriage during the Valentine’s themed Wedding Ceremony and Reception to be held in the courtroom of the Osceola County Historic Courthouse, the oldest courthouse in active use in Florida.

Soto’s office, which is responsible for providing couples their Osceola County marriage licenses, did much the same on Halloween, and also offered Christmas-themed ceremonies.

Couples may register for the group wedding and reception at the Osceola County Courthouse (2 Courthouse Square) at the time of their marriage license application. Registration is open through Feb. 10, or until each ceremony session reaches capacity. First come, first served, and don’t miss out on the chance for everlasting love!

The cost of $50 per couple (doesn’t include marriage license fees) includes a themed reception with cupcakes, beverages, music, statutory ceremony and recording fees, a decorative certificate, themed photo opportunities, and a printed photo.

“What better time to celebrate love than Valentine’s Day?” Soto said. “We will provide a memorable setting for our couples to get married at the Historic Courthouse followed by an elegant reception. It’s truly a special occasion to be married at the Historic Courthouse. We look forward to celebrating with the newlyweds!”
