Ever need that get away from the normal? Sometimes dressing up as your favorite character or simply seeing the work fans put into their cosplay brings joy, like seeing a really good Batman armor someone made in their garage. If this is up your alley, head out the free Fandom Kissimmee event on Sept. 17.

Transport to a world where your favorite characters from comic books, TV, film, and games come alive at Fandom Kissimmee, at the Kissimmee Civic Center from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This family-friendly fantasy, sci-fi and comic book convention features exhibitions that cater to a wide-spectrum of interests including comic books, magazines, toys, games, cosplay and artwork. There will also be panel discussions and demonstrations from comic industry professionals. Bring the whole family and come dressed as your favorite characters.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kissimmee Civic Center.

John Fogerty said it best, “Put me in coach!” Fall baseball is fast approaching and you do not want to miss out on your child securing a spot. Kissimmee Youth Baseball will be offer teams for ages 4-18 this fall.

All Stars Are Bright (All Stars ABC) is a non-profit Kissimmee organization that has provided hundreds of local youth ages 2-18 with character-building athletic and educational experiences for the last five years. Through a variety of recreational, competitive, and elite programs, All Stars ABC focuses on skill development, healthy living, and values such as hard work, sportsmanship, and community. The organization’s triple threat motto is “Be a great person, be a great student, be a great teammate.” The programming they offer appeals to kids of all ages and skill levels, and includes a mini stars program for kids ages 3-7 to prepare them early on for basketball.

Kissimmee keeps on rockin’! On Aug. 28, 10 bands will compete for Number 1 at the Promenade at Sunset Walk Plaza Stage.
