There’s no stopping the Central Florida growth, whether it’s new homes or retail development, and St. Cloud is no exception. Dix Developments is in the process of finalizing its $400 million Roan Bridge project, a 276-acre mixed-use development off Old Hickory Tree Road.

Murder trial for two accused of killing St. Cloud mom starts Monday

The murder trial of two men accused of killing St. Cloud mother Nicole Montalvo is expected to begin Monday. Christopher Otero-Rivera and Angel Rivera have been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Montalvo. Christopher was Montalvo’s ex-husband, while Angel was her father in-law.

Osceola Library System returns to regular hours

 The Osceola Library System returns to full service hours beginning Monday, April 5.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, the library operated under an abbreviated schedule but is now resuming evening and Sunday hours.

Kissimmee man killed in Poinciana Parkway crash

A Kissimmee man was killed in a Poinciana Parkway crash on Monday after his vehicle entered the oncoming lanes. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a 51-year-old Kissimmee man was driving a 2011 Ford Edge southbound on the parkway near Marigold Avenue at about 7:45 a.m.

Two teens rescued by firefighters from malfunctioned Old Town ride

Two teens were rescued on Thursday at Old Town after a slingshot ride malfunctioned.  Osceola County Fire Rescue and the Kissimmee Fire Department worked together on Thursday to perform a successful high angle rescue of two teens who  became stuck, suspended 30 to 40 feet in the air on a the ride.

Kissimmee offering roof replacement program

The city of Kissimmee has a program to assist with replacing damaged roofs.   The city will pay up to a maximum of $12,000 in the form of a five year deferred forgivable loan at a zero percent interest.  The loan does not need to be repaid as the homeowner continues to occupy the residence.

Section of Brown Chapel Road scheduled for resurfacing

Osceola County officials are advising the public that a section of Brown Chapel Road is tentatively scheduled for resurfacing from March 30 through April 12. The section will be from U.S. Highway 192 to East Lake Shore Boulevard. Work will be performed daily from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
