Tuesday’s Osceola County School Board meeting was packed with tension — from the public who came to speak and on the dais. Teachers expressed disdain for how many of their non-teaching workdays were front-loaded to the start of the year.

Back to School supply events Saturday in Intercession City, Downtown Kissimmee

Fresh off another Back-to-School event last weekend, County Commission District 1 Peggy Choudhry is working with Miracle Springs Church in Intercession City on another school supply drive. The event will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the church at 5646 S. Orange Blossom Trail.

Parents and students know it, but maybe all Osceola County motorists don’t: school will be back in session next week. With that comes a lot more students and other pedestrians on sidewalks, crossing streets.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Osceola is on scene investigating at the intersection of West Donegan and North Central Avenues in Kissimmee in response to a male body found in the intersection this morning. Early this morning, Florida Highway Patrol reported that a male was found around 6 a.m.

Toho Water Authority is announcing the closure to through traffic on Brown Street between Thacker and Lavon Avenues starting Tuesday (please see map). The road closure is necessary to conduct a sewer rehabilitation project in the area.
