Kissimmee’s Church Street nearing completion

Here’s good news for those who use Church Street in Kissimmee, particularly to go east toward Neptune Road: the project to fix parking, drainage and accessibility is slated to be completed on-time in mid-September.

Osceola County opening new COVID-19 testing, vaccine sites next week

Osceola County has added to the number of COIVD-19 testing and vaccine sites offered. Next week there will be four sites for each. No appointments are needed for these locations, however patients may pre-register their information beginning Wednesday at http://testing.nomihealth.com/signup/fl.

County imposes hotel conversion moratorium

Osceola County has adopted a temporary moratorium on conversation of hotels and motels, like the dozens lining West U.S. Highway 192, to multi-family residential uses, such as apartments. County commissioners approved the moratorium, which lasts through Oct.

Osceola School District still short on bus drivers

The need is still great for school bus drivers in Osceola County. While the school district held a hiring event specifically for drivers on Aug. 10, and pick up a few hires, there’s still a shortage of about 40 drivers.

Health Department: response for vaccine events “tremendous”

As part of an ongoing effort to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to the community, the Florida Department of Health in Osceola County is joining St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church (400 E. Columbia Ave.) in Kissimmee on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. to hold another vaccination event.
