World War II veteran celebrates 100th Birthday

Ms. Dorothy Jean “Pat” Rudd, a St. Cloud resident since 2013, celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday among 35 family and friends at the St. Cloud Community Center. Mayor Nathan Blackwell kicked off the festivities by presenting Ms. Rudd with a proclamation from the St. Cloud City Council.

UCF engineer: No more resin out of Plant No. 4

A UCF environmental systems engineer told the city of St. Cloud this week that its Water Plant No. 4, which failed in 2017 and released a resin that discolored water in the city, is now absent of the offending Miex resin.

Country Thunder is back on!

The thunder rolls again next weekend. That’s not a weather report. Country Thunder, Osceola Heritage Park’s newest annual blowout country music festival, barrels back into Osceola County — finally! — Sept. 10-12.

School Board stays course on mask mandate after emergency meeting

The Osceola County School District will maintain the 60- day mask mandate for students in elementary, middle and K-8 schools, which parents can still opt-out of tapproved at its last meeting on Aug. 17.
