Council's Corner: New Year, New Beginnings!

Happy New Year from the Osceola Council on Aging! As we look forward to a prosperous, healthy and if lucky, COVIDdecreased 2022 (though unlikely with the omicron uptick), I am beyond grateful to be at the helm of one of the best social service organizations in the state of Florida.

Osceola REDI helps feed Osceola County residents during COVID-19, supports food pantry

Osceola County partnered with Osceola REDI (Recovery from Emergency Disaster Initiative) in the summer of 2020 to raise funds to support food pantries in Osceola County due to the effects of COVID-19.

FDOT meeting on 192 safety near St. Cloud schools

The Florida Department of Transportation is working on improving the safety of a stretch of 13th Street east of downtown St. Cloud. FDOT will hold a public meeting on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial St.

Happy New(born) Year! Advent Celebration welcomes 1st 2022 birth seconds after midnight

Per an AdventHealth press release, the first birth of 2022 in hospital chain took place moments after midnight Saturday at AdventHealth Celebration. Melvin Rodriguez, the new son of Jesenia González Colón and Brian Rodríguez from Oviedo, was born at 12:00:05 a.m.

2020 Plus One?

Twelve months ago, the year 2021 was widely welcomed as a fresh start. As Osceola County followed the rest of the world in returning to something resembling more of a “normal,” the focus was back on returning to work, to school and to the places we were used to.
