Happy Birthday, Kissimmee! So what do you get for a 139-year-old? Actually, it was the city that gave back to its residents Saturday, with a free festival at Lakefront Park. It was a warm and humid day, the perfect pair for some hot BBQ and cool electric blues music from the likes of Damon Fowler.

Osceola commissioners honor ‘Woman Warriors’

In what’s become an annual tradition to highlight the positive community contributions made by some of its strongest, most dedicated female members, Osceola County recognized the recipients of its “Woman Warrior” awards at Monday’s Commission meeting.

Kissimmee refuse company expands into Texas — and beyond

Underground Refuse Systems, which began in Kissimmee as a way to address the collection and smell of trash in urban areas by storing it in underground bins, has expanded outside the state. The local company installed its system in the city of Ennis, Texas’ Historic Downtown.

Two Osceola County residents were killed in separate auto accidents on local roads Monday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol has reported. In Orange County, a 26-year-old Kissimmee man was killed on the Beachline Expressway just east of Orlando International Airport just after 8:45 a.m.
