Memorial features Osceola’s connection to Pulse tragedy

Sunday is the sixth anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting, when a gunman took the lives of 49 people at a nightclub just south of downtown Orlando. The shooting at the Pulse took place in Orange County, but its tragic impacts were felt here in Osceola.

Local doctor seeks volunteers to give back through free clinic

For the last 21 years, Dr. Paul Thorne, a physician advisor at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, has spent his Thursdays volunteering at the free medical clinic he founded as part of the Osceola Christian Ministry Center.

“Backup Bob” remembered with scholarship fund

Downtown Kissimmee has been without the watchful eyes of “Backup Bob” since he passed away on May 16 at the age of 76. Bob, otherwise known as Robert Tarr, became familiar to those who have lived, worked or freq uented downtown in the last two decades.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man discovered Tuesday night at the Tupperware Brands SunRail Station north of Kissimmee. The department reports that deputies responded to the station on South Orange Avenue just before 11 p.m.
