New west Kissimmee temporary COVID-19 testing site to open Wednesday

As the community needs more COVID-19 testing opportunities, Osceola County will launch a temporary COVID-19 test site Wednesday morning.

It will be location at the Maingate Complex, 3020 Maingate Lane, Kissimmee, FL 34747. It is off of U.S. Highway 192, west of Disney World, adjacent to the Wyndham Orlando Resort and Conference Center.

The site will be open seven days a week and will offer free rapid Antigen and PCR testing from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are required at this location with Northshore Clinical Labs; to schedule, visit https://maingate-testing.as.me.

The Department of Health in Osceola and local pharmacies already provide testing — demand has been very high due to the spike in Omicron variant cases — and this is yet another option for the community. Information on testing options is available at www.Osceola.org/covid19testing.

Vaccinations (including boosters), social distancing and face masks are key ways to mitigate the spread of the virus. If you still need a vaccination, find locations at www.Osceola.org/covid19vaccinations.

Officials urge residents to be on the lookout for potential COVID-19 Scams. Residents are urged to be on the lookout for fraudulent COVID-19 products and practices, especially as it pertains to testing. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports unauthorized fraudulent test kits for COVID-19 being sold online.
