Kissimmee High School Class of 1967 had its 59th annual class reunion March 27-29. The theme was “A Spring Celebration.”
Wrapped around the usual food, games, prizes, and chit chat sessions, on March 28 the class had the pleasure of joining the community KHS Reunion held at the Marydia Community Center. The event included food, music, dancing, and conversation with Kissimmee High School Alumni, their adult children, extended family, and friends from surrounding counties.
The event’s attire included beautiful sun dresses, hats, bow ties, and suits representing a beautiful display of magnificent spring colors.
A beautiful welcome was given by Brenda Anderson Hailey and a brief history about Kissimmee High School, Osceola County’s African-American school until Osceola High was integrated in the mid-1960s, was read by Juanita Lesesne. Special remarks were given by Rubin Anderson and others, and the attendees included Dolores McMillan and one of the former Miss Kissimmee High School Queens, Ann Jones.
This year represents community pride in a school that is briefly mentioned on Google websites, but not richly or completely archived in any other historical records. 1967 KHS alumni will celebrate their 60th reunion in 2027.
