Osceola County Fire Rescue EMS holds traditional 'uncoupling' ceremony Wednesday
Osceola County opened its fifth fire station since 2023 Wednesday, providing a higher level of service to residents on the west side of the community.
Station 75, located on Funie Steed Road near West U.S. Highway 192, is in an area previously supported by those in Celebration (Station 72), Four Corners (Station 71) and Reunion/ChampionsGate (Station 73), and its engine and EMS rescue companies will be able to directly support West 192 communities.
“Station 75 is a welcome addition to our community here in District 1,” said District 1 Commissioner Peggy Choudhry. “our fire stations are part of the heart and soul of our community, and stand as constant reminders of our commitment to public safety for our residents and visitors.”
Station 75’s $10.4 million, 12,290 square-foot facility will house Engine 75, which has been in service at Station 45 on Calypso Cay Way (another of the recent station openings) and Rescue 75, which has been in service at Station 71 on Westside Boulevard since 2024.
Station 75 was one of four station projects to break ground in 2024, with the other projects – the newly-built Station 43 in Campbell City and brand-new Station 83 on North Marigold Avenue in Poinciana – expected to finish construction in the coming months.
“Station 75 adds a critical link to our chain of services in this part of our service area,” said Fire Chief Larry Collier. “The additional resources this station provides will allow us to more effectively serve our community by putting the best firefighters and paramedics in the right place, to be there at the right time, to make a difference.”
