City again partners with supermarket to hand out Thanksgiving meals

The city of Kissimmee once again partnered with Sedano’s Supermarkets to giveaway Thanksgiving meals to pre-selected families. A total of 150 families were selected through the city and local nonprofits by those with the greatest need.

Food distribution event in Kissimmee feeds more than 500 families

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida teamed up with Good Samaritan Outreach of Orlando for a food distribution event on Oct. 23 at The Rock Church in Kissimmee. More than 500 families were assisted. Families received fruit, vegetables, milk, eggs, meat, pasta, rice, peanut butter and more.

Community Heroes shine at gala

The second Real Heroes Don’t Wear Capes Awards hosted by A Hero For Kids was held at the Embassy Suites in Kissimmee on Oct. 10. The gala handed out 2020 Community Hero Awards, Legacy Awards, 2020 “Real Hero” Awards and the 2020 “Real Hero” Lifetime Achievement Awards.
