Osceola High School Class of 2020 Parade

The Osceola High School class of 2020 held a graduation parade in downtown Kissimmee on Wednesday. Assisted by Kissimmee Main Street to organize it, the graduates drove up and down Broadway with their vehicles decorated and honking their horns. A crowd of people came out to cheer them on.

Florida Department of Health doing COVID-19 testing in St. Cloud

The Florida Department of Health in Osceola County is providing COVID-19 testing for the community at St. Cloud High School, 2000 Bulldog Lane, today, April 29, through Friday, May 1. Testing will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. all three days. People can call 407-343-2000 to schedule an appointment.

City of Kissimmee, Farm Share give out mounds of food

The city of Kissimmee and Farm Share hosted a free produce giveaway today at the Kissimmee Service Center, 2201 Mabbette St. Each car received one bag while supplies lasted, and it will be placed in the trunk. The line was long but the process appeared to go smoothly.

Planting seeds for students in Lake Nona on Earth Day

In honor of the students in Lake Nona’s four public schools, the community planted more than 6,000 slash pine tree seedlings – one for each student – as part of a multi-day process to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day (April 22) and National Arbor Day (April 24).

Osceola rallies to help residents

The Osceola Council on Aging, Community Hope Center, Salvation Army, St. Cloud Food Pantry, city of Kissimmee, Osceola Heritage Park, and the Second Harvest Bank worked together to hand-out food to those who are experiencing hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic on March 25.

Celebrating tradition

Rodeo fans got to enjoy the Rodeo Parade on Feb. 21, Rodeo Day, through downtown St. Cloud. The parade started at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 9th Street in downtown St. Cloud near Centennial Park. Cowboys, cowgirls, contestants and the community all took part in the parade.

The city of Kissimmee hosted a reception for Black History Month at City Hall on Tuesday. Every year, the city of Kissimmee celebrates Black History Month to remember the contributions that African Americans made in the past and continue to make for future generations.

A wild time

The St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce held its Business After Hours on Wednesday at Wild Florida in Kenansville. Chamber members were treated to the Drive-Thru Safari Park. Members were also able to mingle with one another and enjoyed food from the Chomp House Grill, the restaurant at Wild Florida.
