Osceola County School Board Chair Heather Kahoun has been elected President-Elect of the Florida School Boards Association (FSBA), a key statewide leadership role representing school boards across Florida, the Osceola School District announced Tuesday.
In the role, Kahoun will serve as a member of FSBA’s Executive Officers and support policy development, governance best practices, and collaborative leadership across Florida’s public school districts.
In a release the Osceola district noted her appointment, “Elevates Osceola County’s voice in statewide education leadership and reinforces Osceola School District’s dedication to advancing opportunities for students.”
“It has been an honor to serve this past year as Vice President of FSBA, and I look forward to continuing that work at the state and national level as President-Elect,” said Kahoun. “Together, we are committed to increasing student achievement for the more than three million students across Florida through effective school board leadership and strong advocacy for public education.”
Kahoun was elected at the FSBA/FADSS Annual Summer Conference June 10–12, 2026 where more than 400 school board members, superintendents, and education leaders from across the state met for leadership development, networking, and professional training focused on strategies to support student success.
