ST. CLOUD NEWS -- Still time to celebrate Earth Day, conserving water

Celebrate Earth Day at the St. Cloud Library on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join the fun at this free event featuring local vendors, eco presentations, live animal encounters, food trucks, shred truck and more.

Celebrate Water Conservation Month with Toho Water Authority on Saturday, April 26 at “Movie in the Park" featuring Moana at Hopkins Park. This free event begins at 6 p.m. with games, activities free popcorn and giveaways.

The next DEA National Take Back Day, in partnership with the Osceola Sheriff’s Department, is on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In St. Cloud, the drop off site will be at the St. Cloud Police Department, 4700 Neptune Rd. This event is an opportunity to safely and anonymously dispose of unneeded medications. Proper disposal helps reduce the risk associated with unused prescriptions, safeguarding lives, the environment and the community as a whole.

The community of Sunbridge’s Spring Fling takes place on Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 6197 Cyrils Dr. Enjoy live music, kid’s crafts, zero-waste market, food trucks and Florida Headwaters Foundation Nature Center.

The next Downtown Monthly Market takes place on Wednesday, April 30 from 5-9 9 p.m. Find over 100 guest popup vendors, food trucks and live music. Downtown businesses will be open extended hours.

Also on Wednesday, the city presents Wellness Wednesday – Juicing Demo at 7 p.m. at Hopkins Park. Discover the benefits of fresh juicing in this informative session! Enjoy a live demo, tasty recipes and expert tips to boost flavor and nutrition. This free event is presented by Help Against Hunger East Osceola.

It’s not too early to think about Mom! The City of St. Cloud presents Mother’s Day in the Park on Saturday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Peghorn Nature Park. Moms can enjoy a day filled with vendors, food trucks, DJ, door prizes and a Mimosa bar. A floral bouquet will be presented to all Moms. The cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Third Grade students who score a Level 1 or 2 on 2025 Fast can attend 3rd Grade Reading Summer Camp to receive intensive reading instruction. This is an opportunity to earn a Good Cause Exemption for promotion to 4th Grade during this reading camp. Camp dates are June 4-26 from 8:30 a.m.12:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday at Hickory Tree Elementary (2355 Old Hickory Tree Road).

Middle School Grade Recovery provides Middle School Students with the opportunity to recover a language arts, math or science course they failed. The dates are June 4- 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Cloud Middle School and Harmony Middle School (will meet at Harmony High School.

VPK Remediation provides services for select VPK to close the learning achievement gap for students entering kindergarten. The dates are June 4 to July 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Cloud High School.

The deadline to apply for all programs is May 5.
