Ron Riley basketball league ready for registration
Registration for the annual Ron Riley Youth Basketball League, an institution in St. Cloud, is now open. There will be parent meetings on May 5 at 6:30 p.m. or May 6 at noon. The league is for youth 5-13. Participants will be placed in age divisions according to their age on June 30, 2023. The 5-6 year old league will be co-ed.
The league runs May 15 to June 2, with practice sessions for boys 9-11 on Mondays, boys 12-14 Tuesdays and boys 15-17 on Wednesdays, all from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Co-ed ages 5-6 and skills development will be held Fridays from 5:45-6:45 p.m. Co-ed 7-8 skills development held Fridays from 7-8. p.m. Girls aged 9-13 practice Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon.

Get sewing! Bring your machine to the St. Cloud Veterans Memorial Library on April 28 at 9:30 a.m. and join other sewing enthusiasts. Supplies are not provided. If you do not have a machine, there are a limited number of machines available for use. Sewing novice? You’re in luck. The last Friday of every month includes sewing demonstrations.
This month’s demonstration is Hobo Bag. Materials needed are one yard of cotton and duck or cotton canvas fabric.
The City of St. Cloud presents the Homeschool Movie Field Trip on Friday, April 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (bus departs from the Civic Center, 3001 17th St. at 9:30 a.m.). Save the date for this “Mom’s Only” event – Mother’s Day in the Park presented by the City of St. Cloud and sponsored by AdventHealth on Saturday, May 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., held at Peghorn Park (2101 Peghorn Way). This day of celebration will include floral bouquets for all Moms, vendors, food trucks, Mimosa bar and board and brush workshop availability. The cost for this special event is $10.
