St. Cloud News — City looks to fill Advisory Boards

The City of St. Cloud is looking for civic-minded city residents who would be interested in serving on Advisory Committees or Boards.

Currently, there are openings on the Finance Committee, Historic Preservation Board, Tree Advisory Committee and the Zoning Board of Adjustments. Applications are available at the City Clerks Office (Building A, 3rd floor) or may be submitted online at https://bit.ly/3M7AtBj; the deadline is Monday.

If you miss this deadline, you can still submit your application for any Advisory Board or Committee to be considered at a later date.

Breakfast with the Pros, presented by St. Cloud Main Street, will feature an update on St. Cloud Police and Fire Departments this month. It will be held Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Loading Gastrobrunch (1023 New York Ave.) New St. Cloud Police Chief Douglas Goerke and St. Cloud Fire Chief Jason Miller are slated to speak.

The City of St. Cloud’s Spring Kids Camp will be March 14-18 at the St. Cloud Civic Center (3001 17th St.). Hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The camp is for children ages 5 to 12. The cost is $90 per child (residents) and $100 per child (nonresidents). St. Cloud Civic Center will host a Homeschool 50’s Sock Hop Dance on Saturday, March 19 from 6-8 p.m. This dance is for youth ages 12 to 14. Spring Break is in two weeks, so it’s a perfect time for swimming lessons for beginners. They’ll be held March 14-17 at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center (2991 17th St.) These are beginner classes only. Morning and afternoon sessions are available. To register, call 407-957-7136. The fee is $32.50 (residents) and $37.50 (non-residents).
