ST. CLOUD NEWS — Annual Festival of Trees begins Friday

The Church of St. Luke & St. Peter (2745 Canoe Creek Road) presents its Christmas Festival of Trees on Friday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This magical festival of decorated Christmas trees that are up for raffle will help raise money for the church and collect food for their charity, St. Cloud Cares. This event is free to attend and includes free coffee, hot chocolate and snacks. The raffle tickets are $2 each or arms-length for $20.

 

The fall St. Cloud Citywide Garage Sale takes place from Friday, Nov. 15 to Sunday, Nov. 17. On these dates, residents can have garage sales without applying for a permit. Clean out your closets and garages and make some extra holiday money.

 

Walk in the Stones, presented by the City of St. Cloud, is a free outdoor walking museum at the historical Mt. Peace Cemetery at 755 E. 10th St. on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (a guided tour starts at 11 a.m.). Discover about the artifacts and relics of St. Cloud’s history. Representatives from the St. Cloud Heritage Museum will be there displaying photos and artifacts and also answering questions about St. Cloud history. For more information, call 407-957-7243.

Take a walk on the wild side at the Library on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 6-7 p.m.! Claws and Critters Animal Encounter allows you to get up close and personal with reptiles of all shapes and sizes. There will also be some critters of the fluffy type. Stay after for an animal meet and greet. This event is presented by Claws and Critters.

This weekend is your last chance to see Capybaras at Sunset, an event by Amazing Animals, Inc., 4235 Rambler Ave., will take place on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m.

As the sun starts to set, watch the preserve come to life! Meet Capybaras and so much more during this unique experience. A limited number of guests can enjoy a drink upon check-in while mingling with some of Amazing Animals Ambassadors. Stroll through the preserve with the main stops including the barnyard, Capybaras exhibits and an upclose, hands-on experience with several animals including goats, pigs and donkeys. Be a part of the Central Florida Animal Reserve’s Semi-Annual Big Cat Sip and Stroll fundraising event on Sunday, Nov. 17th from 2-5 p.m. Indulge in an afternoon filled with the flavors of fine wines, stroll off on a captivating walking tour to admire the majestic cats and participate in a silent auction. The afternoon tour is from 2-4 p.m. and the twilight tour is 3-5 p.m. Central Florida Animal Reserve: Osceola Campus is located at 500 Broussard Road. The next Downtown Monthly Market will be on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. Enjoy an evening in Historic Downtown St. Cloud and browse artisans, local makers and food trucks while walking throughout downtown. Shops are open extended hours for this event along with eateries and bars. Roads will be closed for this event, which include New York and Pennsylvania avenues from 10th to 12th Street.

 

Confessions of the Hand Fine Art and Tattoo Gallery has partnered with Hopkins Heroes to provide 300 families in our local schools with a Thanksgiving meal. The Thanksgiving Blessing Basket Drive is happening now until Tuesday, Nov. 19. They are collecting: canned gravy, canned corn, canned greens, beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce, corn bread/dinner rolls, canned ham or $25 gift card for a turkey, white rice, canned yams, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and dessert.
