Osceola County School District’s Meet and Treat with new Osceola Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Shanoff will take place at several Osceola County High Schools. The kickoff for these town hall-style events will be Thursday, Aug. 17 at Poinciana High School. On Tuesday, Sept. 12, Liberty High School, will host an event.

School District employees, parents, students and community members are invited to attend for cookies and conversations. Times for both locations are as follows: 5-6 p.m. for school district employees, and 6:15-7:15 p.m. for parents, students and community members.

 

The Poinciana Library (101 N. Doverplum Ave.) will hold a Volunteer Fair on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. Make a difference in your community and discover local volunteer opportunities with organizations like Give Kids the World, Osceola Historical Society and more.

Some may ask, how can you stay safe on the internet? An Online Safety Class held on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 10 a.m. will help. Follow the guidance in this course to protect yourself online and learn the signs of malware, spyware, phishing, viruses and more.

 

HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is collecting school supplies to support students and teachers in our community. Collection bins are located in the main lobby of HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital (325 Cypress Pkwy.) and HCA Florida Haines City Emergency (36810 U.S. Hwy. 27). Collections will continue until Aug. 31.

 

It’s almost time to breakout those Hawaiian shirts and dust off those grass skirts for the Association of Poinciana Village’s (APV) Adult Luau Time! The Luau will be held on Saturday, Aug, 26 from 8-11 p.m. at the APV’s Victory Pool, 445 Marigold Ave.
