This summer has gone to the dogs … and cats. Osceola County Animal Services 3910 Old Canoe Creek Rd.) has two upcoming events. The first event, in partnership with Bestfriends, is in recognition of National Adoption Weekend from Friday at 10 a.m. through Sunday at 3 p.m. Adopt a dog for just $30 or a cat for $20.
The following weekend, Saturday, July 30, at 10 a.m., Animal Services will hold a Blood Drive/ Adoption event. This month’s city Lunch and Learn event on July 27 is about UVA and UVB protection, and will teach lifestyle changes to help prevent skin cancer. It’s held at the Marina Banquet Hall (1104 Lakeshore Blvd., 2nd floor). This event is presented by St. Cloud Parks and Recreation Department. The cost is just $1 per person. Downtown St. Cloud’s Young Entrepreneur Market will be on July 27 from 5-9 p.m. in downtown St. Cloud. June and July’s downtown markets are featuring all local entrepreneurs, 21 and under. Have you registered for Back to School yet? The 4th Annual Back2School celebration will be held in the Staples Plaza on 13th Street on Aug. 6 at 11 a.m. This event is presented by A Hero for Kids. Families are able to register for free backpacks and school supplies.
Last year’s event saw almost 400 families registered and A Hero for Kids gave away over 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies. Registration is limited. To register, go to https://conta. cc/3yMDQYy.
