Teens entering grades 9–12 are invited to join the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program this summer, a great opportunity to build leadership skills, gain hands-on experience, assist at Camp Discovery, make new friends, and earn community service hours. The program runs June 2-July 24, Monday through Friday, and includes a mandatory training and parent meeting on May 13 at 5:30 p.m. at Oak Street Park Community Center (717 N. Palm Avenue.) Teens who complete 7 out of 8 weeks may be eligible for a refund of the $25 program fee. Applications are open through April 10 and require two references and an interview, which will take place April 20–23. Space is limited. For more information, call 407-518-2360 or email summercamp@kissimmee.gov.
