Here’s a pair of Easter events next Saturday.
First Baptist Poinciana’s (601 Walnut St.) Easter Jam 2024 will be held March 30 from 1-4 p.m. This free fun-filled event will feature mega bounce houses, rock climbing wall, train ride, balloons and face painting and thousands of eggs for the picking, with a separate area for the younger children. The egg hunt starts at 2 p.m., bring your own basket. Enjoy carnival games with prizes, free food and drinks including cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones at this seasonal family event.
Earlier in the day the BunnyVille Bash will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Poinciana Community Park (5109 Allegheny Road). At this free family event, test your skills on an egg-venture obstacle course and challenge your balance, coordination and skills. Hop to the beat on fun inflatables. Bring your family together for a photo with the Easter Bunny and enjoy other activities. There will also be an Easter egg hunt. For more information, call 863-534-6911.
Wrap up the Celebration of Women’s History Month and stop by the Poinciana Library on Saturday, March 23 from 2-4:30 p.m. and watch Women in Film: Carmen Jones. Immerse yourself in film history as you watch the talented styling of Dorothy Dandridge. This movie earned her an Academy Award nomination.
A community blood drive takes place on Wednesday, March 27. OneBlood’s Big Red Bus will be onsite to receive donations. This community blood drive runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Southport Market Place has been cancelled until next season. Hopefully, the Marketplace will return.
