Get Growing! Reservations are now being accepted for your family’s own row to grow. The Garden Patch is located at 5700 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, St. Cloud. The rows and plots will be ready to plant on Saturday.
Garden rows (3 x 50) or patches (12 x 12) are $25 each for the entire season. The season runs from September to mid-January. Irrigation and wood chips are supplied. Gardeners provide their own peat moss and seeds. This season a gardening mentor will come by once a month to give advice on your garden.
Nancy Pratt, coordinator of the Osceola County Grown Garden Patch, said, “This year there seems to be a surge in interest due to people worrying about the commercial food supply.”
If you are interested in trying your hand at gardening in Florida or have gardened before and your HOA does not allow gardens, this Garden Patch is for you. Just bring your seeds, hoe and some enthusiasm. For more information email Pratt at prattne7@ gmail.com.
