Dear Editor: On Monday, we mourned a Marion County mother who should not have died. A mother who was protecting her children from an unhinged neighbor. A mother doing what all mothers do; love their babies.

A Moment With Mary — A moment of outrage

I am outraged. Jordan Neely was killed on a New York subway this month. He was 30 years old with a documented history of mental illness. He had been shouting that he was hungry and thirsty, that he didn’t care if he lived or died. He was clearly in need of clinical intervention.
