Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital is celebrating its 100th robotic surgery.
The hospital says the milestone, "Reflects its commitment to increasing access to innovative, high-quality care for patients in our community."
During a procedure, the surgeon controls the robotic arms to navigate delicate areas while using the robot’s enhanced vision and making smaller incisions.
“The robot helps Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital provide advanced surgical care with improved recovery times and excellent results,” said Christopher Le, MD, general surgery. “It has been a valuable addition to the minimally invasive treatment options we offer our patients.”
Since the program launched in January, surgeons have used robotic-assisted technology across a range of specialties, performing a variety of procedures in general surgery, urology and gynecology.
“We look forward to offering additional types of procedures in the future,” said Colby Herrin, MHA, BSN, RN, director of surgical services at Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital. “Our goal is to introduce new technology in a thoughtful way that provides safe, effective and compassionate care in our community.”
