If you live in Osceola County, you can always tell when the New Year is approaching when acres and acres of white tent tops start springing up at Osceola Heritage Park for the annual Mecum Kissimmee auto auction. The event is the largest recurring event at Heritage Park, now branded as The World’s Largest Collector Car Auction®.
This year’s event starts this week and runs from Jan. 6-18, with 4,500 vehicles consigned for the event. A very eclectic collection of cars is on offer this year, including the Bronx rapper Funkmaster Flex Collection of mainly 1960s and 70s mighty muscle cars.
Over 100,000 car enthusiasts and bidders are expected to pass through the gates at Heritage Park before the event closes. Outside of the main event, there is plenty to do and see, with a kids’ Adventure Zone, the rubber-burning Dodge Thrill Ride, along with vendors, food trucks, music, and endless auto auction action.
In June, the Mecum Auctions TV launched on Roku, while live TV auction coverage of this year’s auction will stream exclusively on ESPN+ before being rebroadcast on the new Roku channel.
Mecum’s 2025 was a great, if not record-breaking event, with some definite bright spots. Total sales were $224 million, down slightly from 2024’s record-setting auction, and a sell-through rate of 74 percent, up four points from 2024. The top seller was a 1966 Ford GT40 Mark I Road Car going for just over $7 million, and eight other cars selling for between $1 to $1.8 million. In all, the top ten sales in 2025 totaled just shy of $20 million.
The gates open daily at 8 a.m., with the auctions starting between 8:30 and 9 a.m. A continuous Road Art auction takes place at the same time, with internet bidding available for both auctions. General admission tickets cost $30 for a single day or $75 for three days, and admission is free for children ages 12 and younger, making this a family-friendly occasion. Tickets purchased online prior to Tuesday’s opening are discounted 25 percent. Parking at Heritage Park is $10 per day.
Bidder registration is $200 for standard credentials. Gold Perk registration is $750, and includes parking, preferred seating, Gold Lounge access, and a $200 food and beverage credit. For more information, visit https://bit.ly/3L9RkI6.
