Smart Irrigation Month is recognized in July to raise public awareness of water wise landscaping and irrigation methods to promote efficient water use, save on utility bills, ensure lasting green spaces and support the sustainability of our community.

At Lake Lizzie, you can go take a hike!

Lake Lizzie Preserve – South Marsh Loop will be the spot for an early morning hike on July 23 from 8-11 a.m. Presented by the Pine Lake Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, this hike will be in an area that was converted from cattle ranching and turpentine production to a nature preserve.

The month of July is National Parks and Recreation Month. The City of St. Cloud Parks and Recreation is holding a month-long scavenger hunt. Keys will be hidden every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – five keys per day (limit of one key per person).

“Decode” your weight loss Friday

HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital (325 Cypress Pkwy, first floor Osceola Room) will begin holding its weekly Decoding Weight Loss each Friday from 10:30-11:30 a. m. starting July 8. This class will explain the science to losing weight: calories burn must be greater than calories consumed.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) Division of Law Enforcement will be promoting awareness and conducting heightened enforcement targeting boating under the influence as part of the national Operation Dry Water campaign this weekend.
