Calling all history buffs! The 29th Annual Battle of Narcoossee Mill takes place this weekend, March 25-26 at Chisholm Park (4700 Chisholm Park Trail). This educational and entertainment event is sponsored by the Jacob Summerlin Camp 1516, Sons of Confederate Veterans.

The founding of Kissimmee 140 years ago will be celebrated with the Kissimmee Birthday Bash and Kowtown Festival this Saturday, March 18, from 12-4 p.m. at Kissimmee Lakefront Park. The free event will have vendors, food trucks, and live music.
There will be over 150 cars on display, including a vintage Polk County police car at Solivita’s 15th Annual Car Show Saturday.

You can have lots of local adventures this Saturday. Hike with members of the Florida Native Plant Society, Pine Lily Chapter from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. This swamp hike will explore Osceola School’s Environmental Center (2300 S. Poinciana Blvd.) This event is free.

Spring breakers from around the country have begun flocking to the Sunshine State and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is reminding everyone to enjoy their spring break safely.  “Nothing can ruin a great day on the water quicker than a boating accident,” said Maj.

Mark your calendars, Fix a Leak Week is back! This annual celebration, observed the third week of March, brings awareness to water waste caused by household leaks. Did you know that about 10% of homes have leaks that can waste 90 gallons of water or more per day? Don’t let that home be yours.
The City of St. Cloud has begun construction on renovations of the restrooms at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center. While the pool will remain open, during construction there will be no access to the restrooms or showers.
