Poinciana News — The Poinciana Library: the place to be!

The weather may be going up, down and sideways, but the one constant is there is always something to do at the Poinciana Library on Doverplum Avenue. On Thursday, Jan. 25 from 10-11 a.m. adults 19+ can join the Using the Internet class.

The bright lights of the Ferris wheel and a taste of those delicious, boiled peanuts are a couple of my favorite things about the Osceola County Fair! But, so are the sound of the auctioneer and that familiar fresh sawdust smell.

The Four Chaplains were four World War II chaplains who died rescuing civilian and military personnel, giving up their own life jackets when supplies ran out as the American troop ship SS Dorchester sank on Feb. 3, 1943.

What is wrong with this colorful Florida flora scene?

Isn't this what Florida is supposed to look like, with exotic tropical plants growing profusely?  To the vacationer or the new resident, it may appear to be a plant lover's dream.   But the reality is that the photo is a better example of paradise lost than of paradise found.
