Osceola County will once again hold its annual celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, a free event featuring food, music, fellowship and more on Thursday, Sept. 17 starting at 6 p.m. in the Extension Services building at Osceola Heritage Park.

From September 15 to October 15 each year, the nation celebrates the histories, cultures, and remarkable contributions of Hispanic Americans whose roots come from Spain, Mexico, Caribbean countries like Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic, Central and South America.
The celebration continues Tuesday prior to the City of Kissimmee Commission meeting. Starting at 5 p.m. at City Hall, the city's Reception and Art Exhibition will feature artwork inspired by the rich cultures, traditions, and stories of Hispanic heritage while highlighting the creativity and talent of local artists with live music and light refreshments.
According to the county and census data, Osceola County is one of three Hispanic-majority counties in Florida, with a 56.8% Hispanic population.
