With a top eight finish in regionals, the Tohopekaliga boys cross country team qualified for the FHSAA Class 4A state championship meet in Tallahassee last Friday.  Tohopekaliga posted counting times by Jared Lopez (17:49.8), Cameron Ford (17:54.6), Nick Boone (18:04.6), and Darwin Vega (18:17).

The Osceola Magic needed a furious fourth-quarter comeback Friday to defeat the Memphis Hustle, 125-116 Friday night to sweep their first two NBA G League games at the Silver Spurs Arena this week.

Snake bit. That’s how to describe Osceola’s 2023 football season that ended Friday with a 28-0 loss at Treasure Coast, the top seed in Region 4S-3. Osceola finished the season with an uncharacteristic 4-7 record, but a ton of extenuating circumstances went into that.

Top senior high school football rivals from around Osceola County will gather as teammates on Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. for the second annual Cure Bowl at East Ridge High School. They will play seniors from Lake County, and proceeds will benefit cancer research.

Poinciana head football coach Randy Beeken was relieved of his duties by the school Monday after five seasons as head coach. His last time donning the headset was Friday’s 35-8 Eagles victory over rival Liberty in the Battle of the Boulevard.

First, Osceola County and Osceola Heritage Park got the franchise, with all the big-league connections. The Orlando Magic announced in the spring it’d be moving its NBA G-League developmental team from Lakeland to the Silver Spurs Arena.
