The Kissimmee Youth Baseball U-18 All Star Team is set to head to Lake City this week for the Florida State Babe Ruth state baseball tournament. Winning there will mean a trip to the Regionals in mid-July, with a berth in the Babe Ruth World Series in Branson, Missouri on the line.
The team outscored competition 142-42 in 15 games leading up to the state tournament.
The roster includes area high school players: Jan Melendez, Nikolas Gomez, Joel Carmona, Jesse Roberts, Donnie Prosser, Angel Moreno, Christian Dawkins, Jacob Rodriguez, Peter Fonseca-Succi, Jacob Sosa, Ryan Garcia, Anthony Sosa, Tyler Dawkins, Bryant Valdez and Joel Carmona, Manager Christian Dawkins, Coaches Jaime Moreno, Gail Dawkins and Juan Melendez and bat boy Daniel "Bebo")
The Poinciana Home Run Club is helping to facilitate much of the team's travel fundraising efforts.
