Wednesday’s all about St. Cloud’s history — And ghosts! — on walking tours

There’s plenty to do in town the evening of Feb. 23, this coming Wednesday.

For starters, join Ron McCracken, past Department Commander of the Sons of the Union, Veterans of the Civil War Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on a historic walking tour through St. Cloud history.

Presented by St. Cloud Main Street, this tour will take you back in time to the early days of St. Cloud’s beginnings. This history is rich in development, a fire that ruined a part of downtown and some of the newer additions to the downtown area. St. Cloud Main Street’s Monthly Ghost Tour is also on Wednesday at 8 p.m. St. Cloud has plenty of history and some ghosts lurking about. You will learn about the ghosts haunting some buildings as well as the history. Tickets are $20. To register go to, https://bit. ly/3sAdSnT.

Don’t forget about Saturday’s Silver Spurs Rodeo Parade, the kickoff to Silver Spurs Rodeo weekend, starting at 11 a.m.!

The Silver Spurs Riding Club is celebrating decades of rodeo and tradition in downtown St. Cloud. Parade–goers will get to see the 2021-2022 Miss Silver Spurs Court, along with rodeo queens from all around the country. Don’t miss the Grand Marshalls, the 2021 and ‘22 Silver Spurs Riding Club Coca-Cola Cowboy and Lifetime Achievement Award honorees, along with the Big Boss, local politicians, businesses and organizations from around Osceola County.

The parade starts on Lakeshore Boulevard and can be viewed on Massachusetts and Pennsylvania avenues and on 12th Street.
