All requests should ride in same Ethics lane
Dear Editor:
I’ve written my own letter to Gov. Ron DeSantis, as a resident of Osceola County who has always shown great concern for the lack of maturity among many of our local officials.
DeSantis recently received a letter from our School Board regarding the above-referenced issue. My concern is not whether Jon Arguello is guilty or innocent, but if any other citizen besides Mike Horner would be given the same kind of white-glove attention by our School Board.
Every time I, or any of my other fellow residents, have had any complaint, whether about a School Board member or County Commissioner, we have been told to file a complaint to the Ethics Commission. Most of those complaints have gone nowhere. However, Mr. Horner somehow has some special privilege to reach our Governor directly and ask for the removal of a School Board Member. Mr. Governor, how are we as residents supposed to
Mr. Governor, how are we as residents supposed to trust our system of government when there is a Disney Fast-Pass system for some, and I-4 rush hour traffic for others? For the sake of transparency and fairness, I as a resident pray that his office will refer these complaints to the Ethics Commission and that all affected parties are asked to fill out the proper paperwork.
