College honors for Osceola residents

A number of Osceola County residents have earned scholastic honors at their institutes of higher learning based all over the country, either in person or via online courses.

• Quinton Butsch of Celebration graduated with an MBA from Eastern New Mexico University in fall 2021.

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 4,900 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute’s 261st Commencement exercises December 17-18, 2021, at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

• Jayna Glover of Kissimmee (Master of Science, Operations Research) and Arianna Mastali of Celebration (Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering with Highest Honors) graduated from Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

• Katya King of Celebration, a Religious Studies major, was named to the College of the Holy Cross (Mass.) Fall 2021 Dean’s List. A member of the Class of 2023, King was among more than 1,375 students named to the Dean’s List during the fall semester with a GPA exceeding 3.5.

• Carter Harris, an All Science major from Saint Cloud and Harmony High alumnus, was named to Upper Iowa University’s Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester.

• Emma Sweet, Andrea Sneed and Zander Yelden of Kissimmee and Amy Glynn were among those named to Valdosta State (Ga.) University’s Fall 2021 Dean’s List by achieving a 3.50 GPA or higher.

• Sumilee Ortiz-Valle of Kissimmee earned a place on the Spokane Falls (Wash.) Community College honor roll for fall quarter 2021. Students must earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

• Bianca Elizabeth Jacquet of Kissimmee was named to the Fall Semester 2021 Dean’s List at UMN Crookston, an online branch of the University of Minnesota. To qualify, students must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits with at least a 3.66 grade point average.

• Darren McCleery, an Electrical Engineering major at Grove City (Pa.) College from Kissimmee, has been named to the Dean’s List with High Distinction for the Fall 2021 semester. Students eligible for the Dean’s List with High Distinction have a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.

Nazareth College (N.Y.) announced Kindred’s Immanuel Rodriguez has been named to the dean’s list, with a GPA of at least 3.5, for the fall semester.

• Juan Salazar, a junior from St. Cloud was placed on the Dean’s List at Greenville University (Ill.) for the Fall with a semester GPA of 3.7 or above.

• Rebecca Gray and Taylor Tobin of Kissimmee were named to the Presidents List at the University of Alabama with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s).

Kissimmee Joe Burgos Abreu earned a place on the Riverland Community College (Austin, Minn.) Dean’s List with a GPA over 3.25.

Dean College (Mass.) is pleased to announce that Sierra Pena of Kissimmee has earned a place on the Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester.

Osceola County alums featured prominently on the Dean’s and President’s Lists of Southern New Hampshire University.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 are named to the Dean’s List. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the President’s List.
