Registration for Junior Magic now

Poinciana Youth Sports Association is registering youth for the 2022 spring Junior Magic Basketball League. The season runs from March 26 to May 14. This co-ed youth basketball league is for ages 6 to 17. The registration fee is $125. The fee includes a customized Junior Magic customized jersey and a free ticket to an Orlando Magic game. Practices and games will all be in the Poinciana area. The last day for registration is Feb. 19 and registration will close on Feb. 26 (a $25 late fee will be applied after the 19th), which will also be draft day.

Poinciana Medical Center will host an online volunteer seminar on Jan. 20 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. that will focus on its volunteer opportunities, requirements and how the on-boarding process works. You must be at least 16 years old to volunteer at Poinciana Medical Center. Learn more about volunteer opportunities by attending this seminar.

The Polk County Sheriff’s office will present a Three Kings Day Celebration on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Poinciana Community Field (445 Marigold Ave.)

The event is open to all residents of Poinciana living in Polk County. The Three Kings Celebration features food, music and children’s activities with The Three Kings handing out gifts to the children. This will be the official ending of the holiday season.

Students at Poinciana High School have the opportunity to gain real life training as well as employment experience through the student-led Addition Financial Branch on the school’s campus. Many of these student tellers are offered employment opportunities with Addition Financial right after graduation.

Students who are interested in joining this program, even if they are not zoned for Poinciana High School, can complete the Osceola School Choice application, which is open until Jan. 28. School Choice applications are available at https://www.myosceolachoice.school/how-to-apply.
