It’s Halloween for your pets, too!

Don’t forget to Dress the Pets! The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) is holding a pet costume contest. If you are dressing up your pets for Halloween, submit a photo and you may win a prize. Prizes include a gift basket and gift card donated by Vanessa’s Grooming or one animal toy donated by Fury Tails Grooming. Submit your pet photos by Monday to to liz. wargo@fsresidential.com. Voting via Facebook runs Nov. 2-5.

The APV Trunk or Treat will be held Saturday from 6-9 p.m. at the parking lot of the Poinciana Community Center (445 Marigold Ave.). Kids should put on their favorite costume and meet in front of the APV Fitness Center at 6 p.m., where the parade will begin. The children will go from car to car where there will be treats waiting in the trunk. After that there is still more to do — a DJ will be on hand with fun music and games. There will also be picture stations. If you dare, journey to the Haunted Prison. Visiting hours are from 7-9 p.m. and admission is $1. The Haunted Prison is located at the Anthony DePalma Center (395 Marigold Ave.).

Save the date — APV’s Veterans Day Ceremony will be on Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. at Poinciana Memorial Park (401 Walnut St.).

All are invited to attend this ceremony honoring the great men and women of our military. The event will begin with a Presentation of Colors followed by guest speakers commemorating this event. The ceremony concludes with a picnic of hot dogs, chips and a drink.
