This September 11th marks 20 years since the terrorist attacks in 2001. VFW Post 3227 will commemorate this event with a 9/11 Day of Remembrance Barbeque, being held at 4700 Chisolm Park Trail (off Narcoossee Road) beginning at 10:30 a.m. The VFW Post will provide ribs, chicken quarters, hamburgers and hot dogs. Each person or family is asked to bring a covered dish or dessert to share. There is no charge for this event.
Activities will include a walking trail, kid’s playground, lakefront boat rides, cornhole, horseshoes, cards, dominoes, volleyball, softball, kickball, a St. Cloud Fire Engine and music. Osceola County Animal Services is part of the annual “Clear the Shelters” effort, a nationwide pet adoption drive. To encourage adoptions, fees for dog and cat adoption are $20 through Sept. 19. Adoption fee includes all initial vaccines, health check, spay-neuter and license.
Osceola County Animal Shelter is also in need of homes to foster adult dogs. If you do not know if you are ready for a long-term commitment, try fostering. Animal Services will provide veterinary care, supplies and food. They also provide a week-by-week training plan for this short-term program.

Osceola County has opened a new COVID-19 testing site at the St. Cloud Library (810 13th Street) every Monday between 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. No appointment is needed, however patients may pre-register their information at http://testing/nomihealth.com/signup/fl.
The next Movie at the Lakefront (1104 Lakeshore Blvd.) will be Saturday. The movie is Wonder Woman, and the event starts at 6 p.m. Bring your own chair and blanket to enjoy this outdoor event. Food trucks will be onsite and trivia games will be played before the movie. The movie will begin just after sunset.
