Due to low player registration, Poinciana Little League will not have a fall season. To substitute the lack of Fall Ball, Poinciana Little League will present Friday Night Lights. This co-ed clinic will be led by local coaches who have played professional baseball.
Friday Night Lights an instructional clinic is for players of all abilities from ages 4-16. The fee for this program is $35 and will be held Fridays from 7-10 p.m. from Sept. 10 to Nov. 12 at Deerwood Park (4051 Laurel Ave.) To register, go to www.poincianall.com/registration.
Since the kids are back in school, it’s time for more grown-up activities at The Poinciana Library, (101 N. Doverplum Ave.). The library will host a program, A to Z Databases, on today from 10-11 a.m. This program is the resource to turn to if you are looking for new employment or to grow your business. A to Z Databases is a job search, reference and mailing list database which is ideal for sales leads, mailing lists, market research, employment opportunities and more. This program will be at the Poinciana Branch Library again on Thursday, Sep. 16, from 10-11 a.m., en Español.
Another for adults only program is just for fun. Make a mess on Tuesday from 2-3 p.m. with Messy Media: Spin Art. Enhance your artistic abilities as you embark on a creative journey with these sessions. All supplies are provided. Messy Media will be held again on Sept. 21.
E.S.O.L. for beginners is held every Wednesday at the library from 6:30 to 8 p.m. These courses help non-English speaking persons become more familiar with the English language.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the library will be showing Hispanic Movie Matinees every Friday from 2-5 p.m., beginning Sept. 17. Explore stories of Hispanic heritage and culture through film. All movies are rated PG-13. Close captioning available upon request. The first movie will be Selena.
If dominoes is your game, come to the library every Sunday from 2-4 p.m. for Domingo de Dominoes. This is open to all adult fans of the game.
