Osceola County is holding a public meeting regarding the Poinciana Boulevard Widening Project. This meeting will take place on Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Association of Poinciana Village’s (APV) Community Center (445 Marigold Ave.)
The purpose of this project is to increase capacity as well as enhance safety along the corridor. Osceola County is designing the preferred alternative that was selected earlier this year. This alternative will provide two travel lanes in each direction, separated by a grass median. This widening project would be from Pleasant Hill Road north to Trafalgar Boulevard.
The project meeting is an opportunity for the community to learn about the design, ask questions and provide input. The project is currently in the design phase with construction expected to begin in 2023.

Girls Junior Volleyball Club Poinciana, coordinated by Precision Elite Volleyball, will hold tryouts for its traveling team this Saturday and Sunday at the Mary Jane Arrington Gym and Aquatic Center (625 Country Club Dr.).
For both days, tryouts for 13- and 14-year-olds will be from 12 to 1:30 p.m., 15-and 16-year-olds from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. and 17-and 18-year-olds from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Prescriptions Unlimited is hosting a COVID-19 vaccine event on today at Liberty High School, (4250 Pleasant Hill Rd.) from 4-8 p.m. This event is for anyone 12 years or older looking to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
