Per the Osceola County Sheriff's Office, a ceremony in honor of Deputy Sheriff Michael Webb, who passed away Wednesday at the age of 43, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Kissimmee.

Webb is the fourth member of the Sheriff's Office to pass away in the month of August. Calls, texts and emails to an OCSO spokesperson were not returned this week regarding the cause of his death. On Aug. 9, Human Resources Technician Crystal Valvano passed away at age 39, veteran Deputy Craig Lincourt passed on Aug, 6, and James Childs, Fire/Rescue department dispatcher, died Aug. 21 of what a tribute page said were complications from fighting COVID-19 related pneumonia.
Webb, who was born in Ocala, will be buried Tuesday at Hawthorne Cemetery (22205 SE 68th Ave., Hawthorne) in Alachua County. A public service will be held at 9:30 a.m., with burial to follow at 11.

He graduated from Hawthorne High School in 1996 and had ideas of joining the National Guard and the police academy, but a knee injury put all that on hold. After two decades as a pest control technician, the urge to become a police officer took hold for good and he entered the academy at age 40, becoming the second oldest in his graduating class in March 2019.
He is survived by his girlfriend Amber Harrison, his parents Walter Riley Webb Jr. (Colleen) and Brenda Odom, sister Anna Plant (Jeff), brother Dustin Webb (Sarom), stepbrother Jason Kowalski (Rebecca), who is an officer with the Miami-Dade Department, stepsisters Kim Bussey (Blaire) and Jennifer Graviss (Adam), four nephews, 11 nieces, numerous aunts and uncles and& cousins.
