The City of Kissimmee Charter School Advisory Board consists of five members that the City Commission appoints for 4-year terms. The board includes three parents, two businesspersons, and one non-voting teacher member. Applicants must be residents of Osceola County, and it’s not required to be a teacher for this position. Imagine Kissimmee Charter Academy (IKCA) was established by the City of Kissimmee to address school overcrowding. The school began operation during the 2000-2001 school year and continues to provide quality education for over 750 students from Pre-K through eighth grade.

Kissimmee man dies in single-car Poinciana crash Monday
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 30-year-old Kissimmee man perished when his sedan crashed into a pole at Marigold Avenue and Poinciana Parkway.
The report stated the car was traveling westbound just before 4 p.m. Monday when, for an unknown reason, it traveled off the road and struck a utility pole. It then spun and the left side struck a sign post.
The driver, who FHP has not identified, later died at Poinciana Medical Center. The crash is still under investigation.

LYNX Labor Day schedule
LYNX will be operating a holiday schedule on Labor Day, Sept. 6, which will mimic the service schedule from Sunday the 5th. Regular service resumes on Sept. 7.
ACCESS LYNX will be available to transport all customers with an advance reservation on Labor Day. Customers should call 407-423-8747 to book their trip.
