Osceola County is now offering rental and bill pay assistance for disabled seniors. The applications can only be submitted on paper, according to County Commissioner Peggy Choudhry.
The program provides direct payments to landlords and utility companies for up to six months.
Applications can be picked up from the county’s Human Services department on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. Choudhry’s office said the following documentation is needed:
• FL drivers license or state ID
• Must be at least age 62
• Lease and/or utility must be in applicant’s name (can be co-applicant)
• Must have W9 form from landlord
• Must have proof of federal disability status
