Toho Water Authority is announcing road and lane closures in Kissimmee occurring on Wednesday, Dec. 16, to conduct road milling which is the removal of asphalt.
Motorists should use precaution when approaching these milled areas as there will be a slight drop in the road and have an uneven surface.
On Dec. 17, the roads will close again to be paved. Each area will be closed for a few hours at different times each day. The closures will occur in the following areas.
• West Bass Street – Between Union Street and Robinson Avenue.
• North Stewart Avenue – Between West Darlington Avenue and Broadway. West Verona Street from North Stewart Avenue will be closed as well.
• West Emmett Street – From the South Alden Street intersection to the South Lilly Street intersection.
• Neptune Road – Shifting lane closures in the Glendale Drive area. The Glendale Drive and Neptune Road intersection will also be closed.
All areas except for West Bass Street will close again on Monday, Dec. 21, for a few hours to conduct road markings. The closures are part of the restoration work relating to recent sewer rehabilitation projects in the area.
The project is being carried out by Garney Construction. Schedules could vary according to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution when approaching these areas, as workers will be present and speed limits may be reduced and sidewalks possibly closed and diverted. Signage will be placed as needed to keep the traveling public informed of the project.
Temporary inconveniences could be noise and vibrations, barricades and fencing for safety and trucks, machinery and equipment
