The Osceola County School District has updated its face covering policy, according to its Facebook page.
District officials said clear plastic shields are not adequate protection when used alone. A facemask needs to be worn when wearing a face shield.
In addition, neck gaiters need to be double-lined in order to provide adequate protection. Single lined neck gaiters will no longer be considered acceptable as a face covering, district officials said.
The Osceola School District requires facemasks on all campuses across the district, for students and staff.
