As the new school year approaches, Osceola County families have plenty of opportunities to gear up for success thanks to area back-to-school events. Offering backpack and supply giveaways, free haircuts, uniform swaps, and family fun – these local organizations are stepping up to support students and families.
JULY 23
Rivers Edge Academy School Supply Giveaway will be held from 4-6 p.m. at Rivers Edge Academy, 3836 Friars Cove Rd., St. Cloud.
Families can expect a school supply giveaway along with vendors, face painting, and a touch-a-truck experience. The event, organized by Rivers Edge Academy, is free.
JULY 25
Soul City Church Free Community Back-to-School Event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Graceview Academy, 2395 Hickory Tree Rd., St. Cloud. The event will feature free backpacks and school supplies, free haircuts for boys, food trucks, and community resources. Children must be present to receive a backpack and school supplies, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. The event, organized by Soul City Church FL, is free.
City of Kissimmee Back to School Jam will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chambers Park Community Center, 2380 N.
Smith Street, Kissimmee. Families will be able to pick up free school supplies while supplies last and enjoy an afternoon filled with activities, music, and community resources designed to help students head back to class feeling prepared and supported. The event, organized by the City of Kissimmee, is free.
Poinciana Christian Church, 3281 Pleasant Hill Rd., hosts Back to School Kickstart from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.The church will be giving away 600 bags of school supplies along with free hot dogs until supplies run out.
JULY 26 2026 Back to School Event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1100 Massachusetts Ave., St.
Cloud. The event will feature free backpacks, school supplies, ice cream, entertainment, snacks, and more. Children must be present to receive a backpack. The free event is open to families with children.
JULY 31
Commissioner Cheryl Grieb Back to School Giveaway will be held from 9-11 a.m. at Hart Memorial Library, 211 E. Dakin Avenue, Kissimmee. The event is open to Osceola County residents enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade. The first 400 Osceola County students who attend with a parent or legal guardian will receive a backpack and school supplies to help prepare for the upcoming school year, while supplies last. The event, hosted by Commissioner Cheryl Grieb, is free.
AUG. 1
Northbridge University Kissimmee Back to School Giveaway will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Northbridge University Kissimmee, 3831 West Vine Street, Kissimmee. Attendees can enjoy the annual back-to-school giveaway featuring free backpacks filled with school supplies (limited quantities, first-come first-served, one per child), electronic device raffles, RUMBA 100.3 broadcasting live on campus, family activities and giveaways, community partners, program demonstrations, and campus tours. Free nail trimming and ear cleaning for cats and dogs will also be available. The event is open to families; the child must be present and accompanied by an adult or guardian to receive a backpack. The event, organized by Northbridge University Kissimmee, is free.
District 2 Commissioner Viviana Janer Backpack and Supplies Giveaway will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Robert Guevara Community Center, 501 Florida Parkway, Kissimmee. The giveaway provides free backpacks and school supplies to help Osceola County students prepare for the upcoming school year. The event is open exclusively to Osceola County residents in grades K-12; students must be present and accompanied by an adult. Supplies are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Zion’s Young Adult Ministry back to school drive is from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Zion Redemption Church of God, 4930 Old Pleasant Hill Road.
Giveaways include backpacks filled with school supplies, plus your chance to win Golden Ticket prizes. The Golden Ticket giveaway includes free haircuts and one winner will receive four tickets to Sea World or Busch Gardens.
AUG. 8
Hopkins Heroes and the City of St. Cloud Back 2 School Bash will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St.
Cloud Community Center, 3101 17th St., St. Cloud. Families are invited to a fun-filled day featuring free backpacks and school supplies, free haircuts, a uniform swap, community resources, and family-friendly activities. The event, organized by Hopkins Heroes in partnership with the City of St. Cloud, is free.
Connect Church of St. Cloud Back to School Bash will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at 1215 Old Hickory Tree Road, St. Cloud. The event features free backpacks and supplies, free haircuts, bounce houses and games, music, food, and giveaways. The event is open to students in grades K-12; students must be present to receive backpacks on a first-come, first-served basis while quantities last. The event, organized by Connect Church of St. Cloud, is free.
