POINCIANA NEWS — How to help those devastated by the Venezuelan earthquakes

Donations are being accepted at 2 areas in Poinciana for the devasting earthquake in Venezuela.  Bravo (4651 Old Pleasant Hill Road) is accepting non-perishable food items, clothing, shoes, toiletries and medical supplies for transport to Venezuela.

Girl Scout Troop 1300 is leading a Community Donation Drive to help bring relief and comfort to those in need in Venezuela.  They are collecting non-perishable food, hygiene products, diapers and essential care items, clothing and monetary donations at BridgePrep Academy of Osceola (4851 KOA St.)  

 

After last week's APV gala, celebrate America’s 250th birthday, One Minute at a Time at the Poinciana Library. The America250 reading challenge for all ages honors 250 years of stories, innovation and history.  This challenge is for all ages.  Log your reading time, earn badges and help celebrate the nation’s past, present and future.

The Poinciana Predators, Poinciana’s long-running organized youth football and cheer program, is currently holding registration for boys and girls ages 5-14.  Practices are held at Vance Harmon Park  on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital will hold Understanding Your Surgical Health on Tuesday, July 14th from 12-1 p.m. This informative Lunch & Learn with Dr. Neal Agee, Board Certified General Surgeon, discusses common surgical conditions, treatment, options, prevention strategies and when it maybe time to seek surgical care.  This educational session is designed to help patients and community members better understand their surgical health and provide an opportunity to ask questions.
